This is a super bold 'Grand Cru' coffee from Colombia. It's short-run so get yours while we have it! On the first sip, it delivers a complex flavour profile of Strawberry, hibiscus, and cacao. Then, as the coffee cools, the magic happens: it develops notes of rum, raisin, and honeydew melon!

This phenomenal gesha coffee bean was selected from Alex Arango's farm in La Colmena. La Colmena translates as 'The Beehive', a name that perfectly visualises the abundance of bees pollinating gesha trees during the flowering season.

La Colmena neighbours the VillamarĂa buying station, so Alex can swiftly transport the cherry from his farm to the buying point. Alex contributes other varieties from his land to the larger VillamarĂa community lots. Upon delivering this gesha lot, Alex received 30% more profits than his typical harvest would garner.

For the natural process, the freshly harvested cherry is delivered to La Aurora where it is floated, sorted and left to rest in cherry for 24 hours. The cherries are then transported the following day to the 'Jamaica' drying station, located in ChinchinĂ¡, where they undergo a further 48 hours of fermentation in cherry.

They are then taken to the drying beds in the greenhouse for around 15 days before being finished in the mechanical dryer for 3-4 days.
